We lost another contestant on American Idol today. Wednesday is normally a sad day, as we usually see one of our favorites leave. But tonight, we saw a long overdue boot off of the show.
Ryan Seacrest announced that the show received the highest non-finale vote total since American Idol began, over 47 1/2 million people voted. He then asked Simon Cowell if he thought he was unfair, like some people have said. Simon said he was unfair to one person, Katharine McPhee. Simon says that it sounds different when you watch it back. Randy Jackson agreed they were harsh. Simon then asked Ryan if he and Paula Abdul were talking again, Ryan said yes.
This week's Ford commercial featured the contestants singing "Call Me" while looking for a lost dog. It turns out the dog has a new family, with a couple of puppies and a female dog. It was an 'awww' moment.
Then David Foster and Andrea Bocelli came out. Ryan asked them what they thought of the idols. Andrea said they're all good singers. David said that when he worked with them, he did so as if he was working with them in the studio. He said you have to be great, not just good. Andrea will be going on tour this summer, behind his new album "Amore" while David is working with some new artists. Then Andrea showed the idols how to perform a love song. He sang "Because We Believe." It was an awesome performance, and that note at the end gave me shivers (the good kind).
After the break, we saw that Lisa Tucker is in the audience. She will be on The OC tomorrow. Then we were off to the results. Kat was placed on the far side. Elliott Yamin went to the middle, while Kellie Pickler stood on the near side. Paris Bennett joined Kellie, while Taylor Hicks joined Elliott. That left Chris Daughtry together with Kat. One group is the top, one group is the bottom, one group is the middle. The first to be declared safe was Taylor and Elliott. After a break, Ryan said that Kat and Chris were the highest group, leaving Kellie and Paris as the bottom. Yes folks, we all have our wish KELLIE PICKLER IS GONE!
I'm just too happy to have much of a reaction at the moment beyond the standard happy dance. Oh, and kiss my *Vote for the Worst, you don't have the influence you think you do.
I'm glad they apologized to Katharine....she didn't do as bad as the judges said she did. However, I still don't think she should have picked that song.
Heard Nigel's interview on tvweek website......they should have apologized to Taylor for making him change his song at the beginning of the week. He was going to sing "Try A Little Tenderness" but the producers thought it wasn't a "classic love song." No wonder he struggled a little.
Glad Kellie was eliminated....she is so cute, but not a great singer. She will be on TV soon...probably one of the Fox's young adult dramas.

From what I understand, that's what his fans call themselves.

Oh, I have so many replies to this.
1. One bad choice? One? Are we sure that's the number we want to randomly pick out? Try adding a few more fingers and then come back to me.
2. fair? American Idol... fair? What world do you live in?
Oh, and I'm too lazy to reply on the proper topic, but for the person who said that I can't find anything nice to say, well, if the contestants would perform decently, I'd have something nice to say. See last week's recap, I was really nice (yes, even to Chris).
Curlio, please give my sympathies to your mom and sister on the booting of Kellie. Maybe now you can go back over after AI and not hear about how wonderful Kellie is.
Also take a look at the picture of Ryan and the judges in the review. It looks like Ryan's head is circled. My "Kellie" was showing there for a minute, because I couldn'f figure out why Ryan's head was circled.

If you can't be a good example, then be a horrible warning!
okay, what is wrong with all you people that miss Kellie? Innocent and vulnerable????? Didn't try to impress people????? Please, she was one of the most pretentious sob story peddling frauds we have seen in the history of TV. She has continually pimped her sob story, reminded everyone her dad is in jail and her mom left her and blah blah blah.
Brenna Gethers had two deaths in the family, and no one pushed that story, and she didn't play that information as a card to stay on the show. True she was obnoxious, but a human being is a human being. And the same goes for Pickleface. She is a human being. But people do not deserve a free ride just because they have sob stories coming out of their a$$.
The people who love her are probably the same people who voted for George W. Bush.
She is about as innocent and vulnerable as Bush is a person who genuinely cares about the middle class, minorities, education, and gas prices.
Kellie is an okay singer, and nothing more. Her cutesy/dumb blonde act was getting really annoying, just like Jessica Simpson was on the Newlyweds. I want to see Paris go next, and I hope to see Chris as our next American Idol.
